How to Initiate Palworld Multiplayer Sessions

When it comes to playing Palworld with friends, you have two viable options. First, you can create your own world and seamlessly host your friends. From the world selection screen, opt for "create a new world." Subsequently, switch the "multiplayer" setting to on. Keep in mind that it defaults to off, so for every co-op play session, you'll need to activate it. After this, proceed to start the game as usual.

However, before launching a session, you must decide whether you want to embark on a solo adventure or join forces with friends. The settings you choose at the beginning of a new game are specific to that world for the duration of the session.

If you initially start a single-player world and later wish to transition to multiplayer, highlight your world and select "Change world settings" before initiating the session. Alternatively, on the title screen, input an invitation code to join a friend's world.

For Xbox or Windows players, the multiplayer feature allows for up to three additional players. Meanwhile, on Steam, Palworld lets you create dedicated servers that can host an impressive 32 players.

If you opt for the invitation code method, your friend needs to send it to you outside the game. The invite code, residing in the options menu, is accessible only when playing in a world with multiplayer enabled. Click on the eye icon to unveil the code, and then share it with your friends. It's crucial to note that the code changes each time you commence a session, requiring you to repeat this process for subsequent play sessions.

How Palworld Co-op Functions

Palworld co-op unlocks the ability to collaborate on building, exploration, battling other creatures, and resource sharing. While player-vs-player (PvP) action isn't yet available in Palworld, friends can engage in a myriad of cooperative activities.

Understanding Palworld Cross-Play

Since the early access launch on January 19, 2024, Palworld supports crossplay between Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows. Developer Pocketpair has plans to introduce full crossplay support between the Xbox ecosystem and Steam in the future, although no specific launch date has been announced.
